Set in New York City between 1967 and 1969, The Errors of Eros follows playwright Dion DeLucaeone as his life divides between art, romance, and a hidden philosophical struggle beneath the surface of modern culture.

After returning from Italy and Greece, Dion is drawn into an ancient secret society rooted in the Platonic tradition and devoted to resisting what it sees as the corrupting forces of the modern world through philosophy, art, statecraft, and carefully constructed myths. Back in New York, he begins dating Carla Geistmith, a clinical psychology PhD student studying the relationship between creativity and mental illness—unaware that he is also becoming the subject of her private psychological dossier.

As Dion writes plays, navigates his relationship with Carla, and undertakes increasingly strange missions, the novel moves through the celebrated counterculture of the late 1960s with a far less reverent eye. Part romantic comedy, part philosophical adventure, and part cultural satire, The Errors of Eros is a light, irreverent novel about art, ideology, deception, psychology, and the stories societies tell themselves.
